A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
The mechanic that wasn't communicated clearly enough in game is that the beeping represents how close you are to the objective; the less time between beeps, the closer you are. At first its connected to your AI companion then once you're holding them it changes to your spaceship. If you're too lost, check out the trailer!
